Brian Gearinger, founder of the Gearinger Law Group, achieved a $1.5 million settlement for his client who was struck by an inattentive driver while she was walking to her car in the parking lot of the Santa Rosa Kaiser Permanente facility. The driver who struck her had an automobile policy with a $500,000 cap and an umbrella policy with a $1 million cap. The client suffered a degloving injury to her calf. Fortunately, the Kaiser emergency room was nearby, and she received immediate treatment consisting of reattaching a large flap of skin with multiple sutures. The case settled earlier this month for the combined limits of both policies.
Brian filed the Complaint on January 21, 2025, and the case settled shortly after the driver filed an answer. As Brian explained to his client, this case moved at lightning speed by settling in less than five months. When Brian delivered the good news to his client, he repeated one of his favorite maxims: “Just because I make it look easy, does not mean it is easy!”
