Colleen Kelley Settles Her First Plaintiff’s Case

Colleen Kelley, who spent the first eight years of her career representing defendants, recently settled her first plaintiff’s case. Colleen represented a long-time San Francisco resident who stepped into a hole left by an empty tree basin next to the sidewalk in front of the Pilsner Inn on Church Street. Our client rolled her ankle and suffered a fractured right distal fibula.
The case settled for $23,000 at a mediation shortly before trial. The owner of the Pilsner Inn, the City of San Francisco and the contractor responsible for maintaining the tree basin all contributed to the settlement. Our client was very happy with the result. Congratulations Colleen and welcome to the plaintiffs’ side of civil litigation!
